DEAR RESIDENTS, Winter is the season for enjoying holiday festivities, spending time together with family, friends and neighbors and looking back on an amazing year. In 2021, the Lombard Park District became reaccredited nationally with recognition for the quality of services and experiences provided to the community. The District also received the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. I am honored to announce these achievements heading into 2022 as we continue to meet incredible standards for the Lombard community. Lombard Park District is getting ready for another busy winter season! Staff has been working hard to prepare for Jingle Bell Jubilee and Holiday Lights in Lilacia Park. Don't miss the annual tree lighting ceremony and Santa's arrival on December 4 at 5:30 pm. There will be singing, roaming characters, hot cocoa and cookies for all. Holiday Lights is a FREE event, so bundle up the family and come out for a spectacular evening of holiday fun! A full list of upcoming special events can be found in this guide on pages 6-9. As we welcome in the New Year, we encourage you to continue visiting all our parks and facilities. We have a variety of exercise programs and walking paths to keep your personal fitness routine going. Madison Meadow Athletic Center has countless amenities for indoor exercise. Discover a fitness opportunity that's right for you by making an appointment with one of our personal trainers! Visit page 16 for more Madison Meadow Athletic Center offerings and upcoming specials. The Board of Park Commissioners thanks you for your ongoing support. We welcome community feedback and suggestions at the District's board meetings, held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center, 820 S. Finley Road. All are invited to attend. Lombard Park District staff and the Board of Park Commissioners are grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve this community each season. We hope you and your family have a safe, happy and healthy holiday season.
