The old playground has been donated to Kids Around the World, an organization that restores playgrounds from the United States and installs them in impoverished countries. For playground updates, follow us at www.facebook.com/lombardparks. Paradise Bay Water Park is celebrating its 5th birthday this season. Be sure to visit lombardparks.com for updates on events and activities to celebrate with us! Opening Day of Paradise Bay Water Park is scheduled for May 31st, which always seems to mark the first day of summer at the Park District. Enroll in swim lessons, purchase your pool pass and get ready to make a splash this season! Visit page 16 for more details and offerings at Paradise Bay. Western Acres Golf Course is booking tee times online at www.westernacres.com for this great 9-hole course. Take advantage of the great rates, promotions, and events that the course has to offer. Mark your calendars for Sticks for Kids Camp, a weeklong camp for kids interested in golf, from June 23-27. This camp has three sessions and all run from 5:00-7:00 pm. The course will be hosting Wine & 9...& Craft Beer, Too! on August 23rd beginning at 5:00 pm. Be sure to like the course on facebook. com/westernacres for course promotions, photos, and more! As soon as school lets out, Summer Day Camp will be in full swing. Give your child something to look forward to each day! The campers will enjoy games, arts & crafts, sports, outdoor activities, field trips, pool days at Paradise Bay, and much more. There are a variety of options for camp from ages 3-14; sign up for one session or the whole summer. We're calling all families with kids who love trucks! The Lombard Park District is hosting a new special event called Touch A Truck on Saturday, June 14 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm in the Yorktown parking lot in the northwest corner. Kids will be able to climb in trucks provided by the Lombard Fire Department, Lombard Police Department, dump trucks, and more! Now that the weather is nice, we encourage you to play outside this summer! Come use the many miles of walking paths, playgrounds, splash pads, and fishing ponds our park system provides. We look forward to seeing you at one of our many events, programs, camps, and parks this summer. The Board of Park Commissioners thanks you for your continued support and encourages your input and participating by attending the regular board meetings, which are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center.
