Park Avenue, Lombard, will be home to the two-week festival from May 2-17, featuring a variety of entertainers, beer and wine tasting events, the 10th Annual Lilac Mutt Strut, plant and lilac sales, and more. This annual event concludes with the Lilac Parade on May 17 through downtown Lombard. For a full schedule of events, view the Lilac Time insert. The Lombard Park District is host to a variety of special events throughout the spring. Tots and their families can enjoy Take Time for Tots Day on Saturday, March 21. Free activities will be available from 10:00 am-noon and include arts and crafts, balloon animals, a bounce house, pony rides, and more. Visit page 6 for more details. Mommy & Me Tea Party is the perfect girls afternoon out. Moms and daughters can dress in tea party attire, enjoy mini sandwiches and sip tea on Saturday, April 18. Visit page 7 for additional information. Paradise Bay Water Park opening day is scheduled for May 30! Get your passport to paradise beginning March 2. Residents can receive the early bird rate until May 16 so don't delay! Pool pass holders are able to enter the water park an hour early, attend many special events at no additional cost, and enjoy the many amenities Paradise Bay has to offer. For more information, visit page 13. Western Acres Golf Course is gearing up for another season and has planned Swing into Spring for Sunday, April 12 from 1:00-4:00 pm. Join the staff for an open house with contests, prizes, reduced greens fees, and more. The course is excited to offer FootGolf during the 2015 season! FootGolf is a combination of the popular sports soccer and golf. This 18-hole course has 21-inch diameter cups and is played with a size five soccer ball. The Board of Park Commissioners has approved the 2015 Annual Operating Budget with expenditures totaling $9 million. Approximately $1.4 million of these expenditures are earmarked for capital projects to maintain the infrastructure related to the District's parks, facilities, and other amenities.
