Teen Camp has taken daily trips to such places as Paradise Bay Water Park, ice skating rinks, pizza parlors, Chicago's beaches, Navy Pier and miniature golf courses to name a few! When we are not out taking in all the fun and sun, we can relax and enjoy ourselves by playing billiards, watching movies, creating new art projects, or enjoying some free time playing the Wii in the teen room at the Lombard Community Building. PARENT MEETING– An informational parent meeting for Day Camp and Teen Camp will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at 6:00 pm at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center. Parents will be able to pick up their campers t-shirt and camp packets with emergency forms that must be filled out and handed in before the camper's first day. For additional information, check out our website: www.lombardparks.com. CAMP OPTIONS – Day Camp offers the option of a 3-day, 5-day, 10-day session or full summer sessions. All Day Camp sessions include the field trip. Day Camp and Teen Camp 3-day sessions only include Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and must be attended within the same week. If attending 5-day sessions, participants are required to attend each day within the same week. Registration for 3-day and 5-day sessions include a t-shirt for campers, 10-day sessions and full summer receive two t-shirts for campers. T-shirts are only given the first time a camper is registered. The Full Summer option includes all five sessions and every field trip during summer camp. T-shirts should be worn on all field trips and pool days. POOL DAYS – Junior Day Camp will be held at Paradise Bay Water Park every Monday and Wednesday during the summer, except for the first Monday of Day Camp (June 8). Additional pool days may be offered during some sessions. Senior Day Camp will be held at the Lombard Community Building (right next to the water park) every day. Senior Day Camp will have the opportunity to visit the Water Park more frequently. If weather is inclement on any pool days, camp will be held at the Lombard Community Building. If your camper has swimming limitations, staff will strongly encourage swim lessons, which are offered for campers only every Wednesday morning. FIELD TRIPS – Junior & Senior Camp have scheduled field trips every Friday and all campers attending on a Friday must go on the field trip. Field Trip permission slips will be given at the time of registration with the Parent Manual and must be filled out before the first day of camp. Field trip fees are included in all camp packages. All campers attending camp the day of a field trip are required to go on the trip. REGISTRATION – Register online or in person at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center. No registrations will be taken at Pleasant Lane School or Lombard Community Building. Registration for camp must be done at least three business days prior to the start of camp. SWIM LESSONS – Swim lessons are available ONLY TO DAY CAMP OR TEEN CAMP participants for $3 per lesson or eight sessions for $16! Swim lessons will be held on Wednesdays from 8:30 - 9:10 am at Paradise Bay Water Park where Day Camp is scheduled every Wednesday during the summer. Once campers are done with swim lessons, counselors will pick them up from inside the water park and bring them to the camp.
