Welce DEAR RESIDENTS, As summer winds to an end, the Lombard Park District is busy getting ready for the new season, which is filled with old favorites like Fall Fest on page 8 and our annual Turkey Shoot on page 7. We are happy to announce exciting new programs and events such as Mom Prom on page 5. Please visit our special event section for more offerings and further details. For your convenience, our user-friendly website, lombardparks.com, contains information about all of our events, programs, classes, and much more! Our registration system will allow you to sign up and pay for programs without leaving the comfort of your home – if you prefer, we have a friendly staff at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center ready to take care of you. Our bi-monthly e-newsletter is packed with programs, announcements, special events, and other important announcements. It has become a resident favorite. The sign up form can be found on our website. Paradise Bay Water Park is finishing up its eighth season. The season ends on September 5th, so make sure to get one last swim in the pool before the season ends. There are still a variety of programs and events throughout the rest of the swim season including Star Wars Night on August 9, Pirate Party on August 12, Lunch with the Lifeguards on August 14, and more. We are grateful to still have our beautiful golf course, Western Acres, open throughout the fall season. The colorful fall scenery is the perfect backdrop to play nine holes of golf or 18 holes of FootGolf. Tee times can be booked online or by calling the clubhouse at (630) 469-6768. The course is open from sunrise to sunset. There are youth rates available for kids under 17 years with an adult. It is a great way to learn the physical skill set and lifelong values that golf instills in adolescents. More information can be found on page 12. If swinging the clubs isn't your thing, FootGolf is the perfect way to stay active at the beginning of autumn while still enjoying the relaxing setting of Western Acres Golf Course. The Board of Park Commissioners thanks you for your ongoing support and encouragement. We would love any feedback or suggestions from you by participating in monthly board meetings, which are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center, 820 S.
