/lombardparks Welcome! DEAR RESIDENTS, The Lombard Board of Park Commissioners and Staff have been preparing an incredible selection of summertime activities for 2017. Inside this guide you will find camps, aquatics, fitness classes, golf, special events, and much more! Don't forget Lilac Time starts on May 6, so you can still register for the wine tasting, beer tasting, the Mutt Strut 5K and the Pancake Breakfast. For a full list of events and an updated bloom-o-meter visit www.lombardlilactime.com. Adventure awaits at Paradise Bay Water Park! Opening on May 27, this state-of-the-art water park is home to a zero-depth entry leisure pool, four water slides, water walk, lap pool, two diving boards, and a concession stand. The littlest paradise seekers can enjoy fun in the sun in Turtle Cove with its fountains, island, and water slide just their size. Residents can purchase their passes at the early bird rate until May 13. We would like to thank our 2017 sponsor Amy Pecoraro & Associates and RE/MAX Achievers. For more information, flip to page 10. Western Acres Golf Course, home to a 9-hole course and 18-hole FootGolf course, is the perfect backdrop for an afternoon away from the office, a weekend with family, or league play. FootGolf, a combination of the popular sports golf and soccer, is a great family game that can be played during the last tee time every day. Book a tee time at westernacres.com and play 9! For more details see page 8. New this year is our Bounce Back to School special event on page 6! Bring your family out and enjoy one last summer party before heading into the school year. We will also be hosting Movies and Concerts in Lilacia Park all summer long along, with Community Play Day and our Fishing Derby. On March 28, 2017, the Lombard Board of Park Commissioners approved the construction of a recreation center on the former Fairwood School site at the southwest corner of Madison Meadow Park. This will be the first recreation center built in our 90 year history for the residents of Lombard. Please visit lombardparks.com for details and updates. The Board of Park Commissioners thanks you for your continued support and encourages your input and participation by attending the regular board meetings, which are held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Sunset Knoll Recreation Center.
