/lombardparks Welcome! DEAR RESIDENTS, As we wrap up summer and begin to see the leaves change and the temperature drop, the Lombard Park District is busy getting ready for another action packed Autumn season. Fall Fest and our annual Turkey Shoot are just some of events we all look forward to (Special Events begin on page 5). Please visit our special events section for more offerings and further details. For your convenience, our user-friendly website, lombardparks.com, contains information about all of our events, programs, classes, and happenings within the District! The registration system allows you to sign up and pay for programs at the touch of your fingertips on all of your mobile devices. For those who prefer in person registration, staff will be more than happy to assist you at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center. Our resident favorite, the bi-monthly e-newsletter, is filled with important announcements, special events, and programs. If you are not already signed up for our e-newsletter be sure to sign up on our website. Paradise Bay Water Park is finishing up its ninth season. Do not miss out on our annual Star Wars Night on August 8, Pirate Party on August 11, and Lunch with the Lifeguards on August 13. The season ends on September 4, so make sure to enjoy the last of the summer weather with us at Paradise Bay. Western Acres Golf Course is excited to begin another beautiful autumn season. The course is open from sunrise to sunset. The colorful autumn scenery is a perfect backdrop to play nine holes of golf or 18 holes of FootGolf. All tee times can be booked online at our website or by calling our clubhouse at (630) 469-6768. If you would rather use your foot to get a hole in one, FootGolf is the perfect way to still get out on the greens and enjoy the relaxing setting of Western Acres Golf Course. Be sure to check out the youth rates for children under 17 when golfing with an adult. More information can be found on page 11. Construction is underway for the new recreation center at Madison Meadow. The new building is estimated to be open to the public in June 2018. We encourage you to check out our website project and view the construction time lapse as well as overhead videos of progress at lombardparks.com. The Board of Park Commissioners thanks you for your ongoing support and encouragement. We would love any feedback or suggestions from you by joining our board meetings that are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center, 820 S Finley Road. Our board meetings are open to all Lombard residents.
