25 lombardparks.com | (630) 620-7322 SUMMER YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE (Grades 1-8) We have again entered into a park district cooperative basketball league between Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, Itasca, Medinah, Glendale Heights, Bensenville, and Roselle. This means that home games will be played in Lombard, but road games will be played in other towns. It is still a recreational league focusing on player development and has rules (ex. all players must play 50% of the game). Games will be played on Sundays and begin 06/09. Practices will be held during the week similar to the winter basketball league. Jerseys for this league will be the Lombard Park District red and black reversible. Jerseys may be purchased at the Sunset Knoll Recreation Center for $20. The lesson plan introduces the pass, set and spike using a very light volleyball. Youth EVP Volleyball Skills & Drills (Ages 9-11): Improve your volleyball skills with drills in setting, passing, overhand serving and spiking. Junior EVP Volleyball Skills & Drills (Ages 11-14): Reach the next level with drills in setting, passing, overhand serving and spiking. EVP Volley Series (Ages 10-14): Our coach will develop a team with weekly instruction to prepare for bi-monthly matches. Match play events are normally on Sundays from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at locations less than 50-minute drive. The program begins with three weeks of instruction in a practice setting followed by three weeks of games. Games are one hour and can be played at 5:30 or 6:30 pm regardless of which time slot participants registerd for. All participants will receive a T-shirt and hat prior to the start of games and there will be a Family Fun Night at the end of the season for all participants. Fridays will be used for rainouts. The program is taught by Park District Staff, but parents are invited to help with instruction, so volunteer today by calling (630) 620-7322.
