MOVIN' & SHAKIN' (Age 3) Your preschooler will use their imagination and play games in this movement and dance class. Ballet shoes required. Children must be toilet independent. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/30 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad FAIRYTALE DANCE (Ages 3-4) This class introduces dance using ballet as a foundation and explores sound and movement. We will read a fairytale each week and explore the story through dance. Ballet shoes are required. Children must be toilet independent. Class Will Not Meet On: 10/08 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad PRE-BALLET (Ages 4-5) Pre-Ballet I (Ages 4-5): Little dancers are introduced to the structure of ballet class, ballet etiquette, basic terminology, feet and arm positions and musicality. These classes will incorporate props and dance games as well as developing each child's creativity and encouraging self-expression. Pre-Ballet II (Age 5): This class is for students who have completed Pre- Ballet I or Fairy Princess Dance, and for 5 year olds new to ballet. Students will develop spatial awareness, work on posture and coordination, learn the foundation of barre work, continue progress with arm and foot positions, and incorporate basic ballet technique. Class Will Not Meet On: 10/08, 10/11, 11/28, 11/30 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad BALLET (Ages 5-13) Ballet I (Ages 5-8): This class will build upon the basic ballet technique learned in pre-ballet and/or Fairy Princess Dance. Emphasis will be placed on musicality, posture, patterns, stage directions, flexibility, terminology and linking steps. Ballet II (Ages 8-13):This expands on Ballet I. Ballet II emphasizes feet, arm and body positions, correct body placement, preparation for turns, barre work, ballet stretching, musicality, memorizing ballet combinations, and choreography. Class Will Not Meet On: 10/07, 10/10, 11/28, 11/30 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad PRE TAP & JAZZ (Ages 4-5) Learn the basics of both tap and jazz in this class designed especially for preschoolers! Tap and jazz shoes required. Children must be toilet independent. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/28 Instructor: Arianna Robertson TAP & JAZZ (Ages 6-8) Learn the basics of both tap and jazz in this class designed especially for 6-8 year olds! Tap and jazz shoes required. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/28 Instructor: Arianna Robertson PRE-JAZZ (Ages 3-4) This class focuses on jazz technique and introduces dancers to rhythm, and coordination. Jazz shoes required. Children must be toilet independent. Class Will Not Meet On: 10/08 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad JAZZ I & II (Ages 8-13) Children are introduced to jazz dance in this class that features a new routine each session. Jazz shoes and dance apparel are required. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/25 Instructor: Ashley Silha POM/JAZZ (Ages 6-11) Learn the basics of pom pon & jazz dance and have fun making up new routines and dances. Participants should bring pom pons to class and wear jazz shoes. Class Will Not Meet On: 10/10, 11/28 Instructor: Rebecca Roberstad DANCE & POMS OPEN HOUSE Discover dance and poms with the Lombard Park District! Meet the dance instructors for all classes, Inspire Dance Team, and Lombard Poms Team. Visit the dance studio and learn about the different genres of dance that the Park District offers! Dancers are encouraged to attend. Day Date Time Location Th 08/22 6:00 - 7:30 pm Sunset Knoll Recreation Center, Rm 7 DANCE DRESS CODE Appropriate dance attire is required for all dance classes. No jeans, dresses, sandals, or street shoes are allowed. All dancers must wear the following dance shoes to class: black jazz shoes for all hip hop and pom/jazz classes, black tap shoes for all tap classes, and white or pink ballet shoes for all pre-ballet, ballet, and lyrical/contemporary classes.
