CALLIGRAPHY
(Ages 17+)
Haven't you always wanted to learn this beautiful writing? Your instructor
has experience teaching calligraphy and has designed a basic course
using dip pen and ink. Students will learn the classic 15th Century Italic
alphabet, together with design application, photocopy techniques, and
special projects like greeting cards and poems. Supplies can be purchased
from the instructor on the first night of class for $15.

DRIVER'S SAFETY PROGRAM
(Ages 55+)
The AARP Smart Driver Course teaches valuable defensive driving
strategies and provides a refresher of the rules of the road. This course
has helped more than 15 million drivers learn to adapt their driving
to compensate for changes that may occur with aging. Plus, you may
qualify for a multi-year automobile discount by completing the course.
(Check with your auto insurance agent for details.) Receive a $5 refund
after you present AARP card to instructor.

FALL CONTAINER WORKSHOP
(Ages 16+)
Design an attractive fall container of hardy plants to bring color to any
outdoor space. Learn optimal plant combinations, planting techniques
plus how to prune and edit for following seasons. This workshop is great
for beginners and experienced gardeners alike. We will supply the 12"
planter, soil, and hardy annuals. Please provide your own gardening
gloves and pruners or scissors.

CHICAGO CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
(Ages 18+)
Visit the Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza to shop for holiday crafts.
See and hear the magic of the holidays come alive at Navy Pier for the
annual Christmas display. See the beautiful decorations, while yuletide
music fills the air. Enjoy a late lunch/dinner at Lawry's The Prime Rib. The
restaurant, in the old McCormick Mansion, is magnificently decorated
for the holidays. Later, enjoy a narrated guided tour of the breathtaking
Christmas Lights and the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival along Michigan
Avenue. A minimum of 20 participants is needed by 11/07 for this trip
to take place. There will be no refunds after 11/07.

THE PRIDE OF OREGON LUNCH CRUISE
(Ages 18+)
Aboard the Pride of Oregon, built as a replica of the famous Rosie O'Shea
paddle wheeler, enjoy a delicious luncheon cruise and the sights of the
Rock River Valley near Oregon, IL. While on the cruise, hear the narration
of the legend of Chief Black Hawk. See the bluffs in Lowden State Park
and the 50-foot Black Hawk Statue. A minimum of 20 participants is
needed by 09/16. There will be no refunds after 09/16.
