Using a dip pen and ink, beginning students will explore Medieval alphabets like Uncial and Gothic Blackletter, then progress to the intermediate course with Italic, Roman Capitals, and Modern Brush Lettering. Both courses devote time to design application with small projects like greeting cards, stationery, paper painting, and writing in color. A supply kit may be purchased from the instructor for $15 on the first day of class.
