16 / LOMBARDPARKS Y O U T H A T H L E T I C S SUMMER YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE (Grades 1-8) Join the park district's cooperative basketball league between Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, Itasca, Medinah, Glendale Heights, Bensenville, and Roselle. Home games will be played in Lombard with road games played in other towns. This recreational league focuses on skill development and individual player participation. Games will be played on Sundays and begin 06/07. Practices will be held during the week similar to the winter basketball league. Jerseys for this league will be the Lombard Park District reversible red and black. Jerseys may be purchased at the Sunset Knoll Recreation Center for $20. The lesson plan introduces the pass, set and spike using a very light volleyball. Youth EVP Volleyball Skills & Drills (Ages 9-11): Improve your volleyball skills with drills in setting, passing, overhand serving and spiking. EVP Games & Spikes (Ages 10-14): Reach the next level of the game of volleyball with 30 minutes of drills in setting, passing and spiking. The final 60 minutes of class are games only! The EVP Instructors will organize games and build the athletes volleyball IQ at the end of each class. Spring Break Camps (Ages 6-14): These 3-day camps will concentrate on volleyball fundamentals.
