All participants will learn cool new strategies at the appropriate level from a renowned Chess Scholars coach. Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Children will have the opportunity to test for a Chess Belt under a unique Chess Scholars system patterned after martial arts belts. There will also be a chess competition with prizes. Each camper will take home a chess set and an award. Please bring a snack! Tricks may appear difficult, but you'll discover that they are easy to perform. All materials are provided and each child will receive a kit to take home. Children are grouped by age. Instructor: Magic Team of Gary Kantor Location: Iowa Community Center Code Day Date Time R/NR Fee 207103-01 W 06/24 6:45 - 7:40 pm $20/$25 FIRST AID & CPR (Ages 12+) Learn to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing emergencies, and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, head and cold. Online portion of class must be completed before class and is a two-year certification. Course fee includes online access to digital version of manual and refresher course. Training will be provided in safety, safe play, basic care, first aid, leadership and professionalism. Class includes a digital copy of the handbook, review materials, certification card and a first aid kit. Please pack a lunch and snacks for this course!
