page 30 youth athletics T-BALL (Ages 4-6) Youth T-Ball is a fun-filled instructional program that introduces basic baseball rules and sportsmanship along with teaching the necessary baseball fundamentals of base running, hitting and fielding to your little athlete. The program begins on June 10/11 with 2 weeks of instruction in a practice setting and games begin the following week. Games are one hour and will be played within the time range listed below. All participants will receive a T-shirt and hat prior to the start of games and there will be a Family Fun Night at the end of the season for all participants. Fridays may be used for rainouts. The program is taught by Park District Staff, but parents are needed to help with the instruction, so volunteer today by calling (630) 620-7322. Please fill out a Youth Sports Info Form upon registering. Note: You will NOT receive a call from a coach. Please report to the field on the program's first day. An experienced and skilled coaching staff including women who played or currently play competitively run the camps. For questions about camp content, please email info@iglax.org. BEGINNER CAMP: For participants with one or fewer years of playing experience. Players will learn the fundamentals of lacrosse; catching, throwing and ground balls. There will also be an opportunity for more advanced skill development such as offensive and defensive positioning and simulated game play. Girls will learn the skills of the game in a fun, fast-paced, and dynamic environment with drills and games. EXPERIENCED CAMP: For participants with more than one year of playing experience. Coaches will work with the experienced player to fine tune skills, correct positioning, and teach advanced techniques for improving her game. With small group instruction, there will be many opportunities for one on one instruction. Experienced players will engage in game play with instruction-all in a fast paced and dynamic environment. EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Goggles, sticks and mouth guards are required equipment. Sticks and goggles are available to borrow at no charge; you will need to email info@iglax.org ahead of time. The professional coaching staff at New Wave Lacrosse will provide a fun, high-energy atmosphere geared towards helping you improve your game. Camps for Beginners and Experienced players are being offered! Get ready for some fast paced Lacrosse! Athletes will be divided by age and skill level to ensure a fun, challenging environment for all. Beginners will take a focused approach to the fundamentals and quickly work into advanced skills through structured competitions. Intermediate players will be challenged to improve their 'Lax IQ'. New skills will be taught and implemented in short sided games. Players will be exposed to a mix of positional skills as well. A great environment for every player!
