page 56 adult & senior youth & teen DINING, ETIQUETTE, AND SOCIAL (Ages 6-12) The objective of this hands-on session is to teach modern guidelines for dining so participants feel comfortable, confident, and in control during mealtime situations. It is an effective complement to the Table Monsters class! Topics include setting a proper table, learning appropriate use of utensils and napkins, eating difficult foods with ease, and how to politely leave the table. Students will go home with a folder full of handouts and information covered in class. (Ages 7-12) Create your own adventure for Harry Potter, Ron and Hermione! You will create your own Harry Potter™ movie using special movie making cameras and software. As directors and producers you will work in teams to create your own story and script, use Lego® Harry Potter mini figures as characters, draw your own backgrounds and film your own movie. You will use graphic editing techniques and stop motion animation, add background noise and music, and show your movie at a private screening on the last day of class. It covers age-related physical changes, overcoming the effects of aging on driving skills, rules of the road and accident prevention. Completion of the course enables older adults to reduce their auto insurance rates. Renew every 3 years to maintain the reduced rates. Participants must attend both days of the program. Using the LEGO™ WeDo Robotics System your robots will include a monkey who plays a drum to a rock & roll beat, a lion that roars, a bird that flaps its wings to create a big wind, a sleeping giant who will awaken on your command and a boat that will rock on the rough seas. This course builds knowledge of simple machines, engineering, programming, and teamwork in an environment full of Rockin' Fun! Students will work in teams of 2.
