Lombard Park District 38 Chapter Two Overall Service Areas The Overall Parks Service Area Map is an overlay of all the service area maps illustrating a comprehensive look at mini, neighborhood and community park service areas together. The areas depicted in cream indicate under served areas within the Park District boundaries. The coverage for the overall parks service area indicates that residential areas within the Lombard Park District are adequately served. The most served areas are illustrated by the dark orange while the least served areas are illustrated by the lack of orange. The orange service area buff ers overlap to form a gradient that illustrates the degree to which residents are served. The darker the orange, the more service areas overlap. This represents that those residents who fall within the darker orange area are served by multiple parks and their amenities. Gaps in service that do exist are in non-residential areas or areas served by other park providers. The existing Level of Service for parks (owned and leased) indicates 106.99 acre defi ciency, compared to the 10 acres / 1,000 population served standard.
