youth athletics NEW! Fall Youth Basketball League (Grades 1-8) Teams will have a maximum of 10 players and one weekly practice at Pleasant Lane School. Games of 5v5 will be held on Saturdays at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center in Glen Ellyn. Teams will be coached by parent volunteers. Games will be played against teams from both Glen Ellyn and Lombard. Please note: Fall Youth Basketball will follow the All Sports Policy issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), adapting to any and all changes throughout the season. Participants will learn and improve their soccer skills and share in the fun and camaraderie at the heart of youth sports in this program. Teams practice weather- permitting once per week on a day, time and location determined by coaches. Teams will hold at least one practice before their first game of the season. Games are approximately one hour on Saturdays. If rainouts occur, games will be rescheduled for an additional Saturday at the end of the season or on weekday evenings. The primary goal is to create an opportunity for fundamental skill development in a positive, supportive, friendly, safe and most importantly, fun environment for every player. Coaches will determine all practice times. Please note: age groups may be combined based on enrollment. Levels are determined by age as of January 1, 2022. Participants registering after the 07/23 deadline will be placed on a waitlist and will not be guaranteed a spot on a team. Withdrawals after 08/21 are subject to a $10 processing fee. A prorated refund may be granted within the first two weeks of play; refunds will not be granted after. Requests for teams, players or coaches will not be guaranteed. Teams will be formed using the District's Team Formation Guidelines. For more information, please see our Parents Manual, available online at lombardparks.com. Please note: leagues may be combined based on enrollment. Fall youth soccer age requirements Children must turn 4 by the first week of practice to play in the Pre-K league. Grades 5 and up will combine with Glen Ellyn Park District and play some games at Ackerman Park in Glen Ellyn. Please note: girls and boys leagues may be combined based on enrollment. Thunder Travel Softball free tryouts Lombard Thunder Travel Softball is offered part-time and full-time for girls ages 10U-14U. Interested in joining?
