page 29 music MUSIC TOGETHER (Ages 0-6) These music classes are designed to build on your child's natural enthusiasm for music and movement. Experience new songs, chants, free dances and instrumental jam sessions. Activities focus on adult/child interactions rather than child/child, so that homogeneous age groupings are not necessary. Fee includes an illustrated songbook, parent educational materials and two CD's of the music used in class. Each semester, a new and exciting song collection is introduced. Families who attend regularly for three years collect the complete set of nine Music Together® songbooks and recordings. Siblings under nine months are free! No refunds issued after the first class. Music Together Demonstration Classes – Wee Heart Music invites parents or other care givers and their infant, toddler and preschool children to attend a sample music class for the Fall semester Tuesday, August 27th at 10:15AM, for mixed-ages 0- 5 yrs old and a Babies class (0 – 9 mos) at 11:30AM at the Lombard Park District. After this one-semester, the family enrolls in a mixed-age class. The music activities in a Babies class are specifically designed to teach parents how to support music development in infancy and how to connect with their infants through music, using concepts such as "purposeful touch, sound layering and dancing for baby". Babies class uses the same collection as mixed age classes, enabling a seamless transition for families and teachers between class programs. Tuition includes materials. Levels range from beginners to advanced. Learn the basics of piano theory, technique and performance. Lessons are offered in 30 minute sessions on Thursday mornings to early afternoon. The instructor will inform students what books are required and can be purchased through a local music store. For the student's convenience, class times can be arranged between the instructor and the student. Once lessons begin the Park District cannot offer refunds or makeups for missed lessons.
