GARDENS OF THE ROCK RIVER VALLEY

Travel to the Rock River Valley to explore the region's beautiful gardens. In
Janesville, WI tour the majestic Rotary Botanical Gardens. A guided tour of this
stunning showcase features 24 different garden areas and more than 4,000 plant
varieties. The Garden is home to many dramatic and internationally themed
gardens including Japanese, Scottish, French, Italian and English Cottage
Gardens. See the spectacular Sunken Gardens where large cottonwoods and
honey locust overhang planting beds filled with drifts of colorful blooms from
bulbs, perennials and annuals. At Anderson Japanese Gardens, tour one of North
America's highest-rated Japanese Gardens. Highlights include meandering
streams, koi-filled ponds and plunging waterfalls. Lunch today is at the historic
Stockholm Inn in Rockford, IL. This Scandinavian-style restaurant is known for its
delicious home cooking and has hosted Dinah Shore and Mickey Rooney. Please
note: these tours are all walking tours. Paths are wheelchair accessible at the
Anderson Japanese Gardens. A select number of electric carts are available at
the Rotary Botanical Gardens, and must be reserved in advance of the trip. Please
let the front desk know at the time of registration if you will require a reservation.

CHINATOWN EXPLORER

Chinatown showcases one of the most unique ethnic neighborhoods in Chicago.
With its beautiful architecture, delicious food and exotic stores, Chinatown offers a
unique experience that you won't find anywhere else! This morning we join a local
Chinatown guide who will take us behind the scenes to experience this fantastic
neighborhood. On our walking tour see the Chinatown Gate, Nine Dragon Wall,
the Landmark On-Leong Merchants Association (Pui Tak Center), St. Therese
Catholic Church, Chinese Zodiac Square, Chinese Marble Lions, Four Greatest
Inventions of Ancient Chinese and the Chinatown Mural. After our tour, enjoy
a fabulous family style lunch at the Hing Kee Restaurant, located in Chinatown
Square; it boasts great Chinese food. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to shop on
Wentworth Ave to visit the bakeries, gift stores, teahouses and candy stores! Wear
comfortable footwear as the tour will require appromately 4-5 blocks of walking!
