YOUTH POTTERY WHEEL (Ages 11-13) Learn to use the pottery wheel. Students will learn how to center, raise, open and pull in order to create a variety of pieces with special glazing techniques to help bring their creations to life. All skill levels welcomed. Space is limited. Students will learn pottery basics like coil, pinch pot, slab, and forming techniques will be taught. Every participant will complete 4 glazed projects demonstrating their new ceramic skills. Creativity is encouraged to personalize each piece! No previous ceramics experience required. Students will add eye catching glaze and texture to make this school their own. No previous experience required. Students will be introduced to fundamentals of attaching, centering, throwing and trimming basic forms. You will use your choice of glazes to finish your pieces. Space is limited, sign up early. Students will be able to work independently on the wheel with instructor guidance. Previous beginner class or instructor consent required to join the class. Instructor consent to join the class is required. Students will have an opportunity to work independently on the wheel and hand building to create their own unique pieces, complete with a variety of glazing techniques. Looking for extra studio time? Sign up for the extended hour of class. Participants must be enrolled in the two-hour class in order to register for the extra hour. Space is limited so sign up early.
