ADULT POTTERY
ADULT HAND BUILDING
(Ages 18+)
This introductory class will teach students how to hand-build with clay. Students
will learn pottery basics like coil, pinch pot, slab and forming techniques. Every
participant will complete four glazed projects demonstrating their new ceramic
skills. Creativity is encouraged to personalize each piece. No previous ceramics
experience required.

CRITTERS IN MY YARD!
(Ages 18+)
In this workshop, participants will create animals who hide amongst the hostas
or graze in the grass. Each participant will be guided to sculpt the kind of sheep
and rabbits who DON'T eat their garden. Sculptures will then be glazed and will
be safe for use outdoors. This workshop is for beginners and experienced potters.

CERAMIC LUMINARIES
(Ages 18+)
Design your own luminaries using the pinch pot and slab building methods.
Learn to make patterns while accounting for clay shrinkage. Add embellishments,
texture and glaze to create luminaries for your mantle, garden or deck. Some
previous pottery experience encouraged.

VASE WITH A FACE
(Ages 18+)
Design a vase and create a colorful homage to artist Frida Kahlo (or your favorite
person) out of clay. Add texture, embellishments and glaze to create a one-of-a-
kind vase. This class will also cover the importance of documenting the project in a
sketchbook, log or journal. Previous ceramics experience required.

BEGINNER ADULT WHEEL
(Ages 18+)
Learn to use the pottery wheel to create your own projects. Students will be
introduced to fundamentals of attaching, centering, throwing and trimming basic
forms. You will use your choice of glazes to finish your pieces. Space is limited,
sign up early.

CONTINUING ADULT WHEEL
(Ages 18+)
This wheel class is for those who have advanced past the beginners class and can
successfully attach/center 2-3 lb of clay independently. Students will be able to
work independently on the wheel with instructor guidance. Previous beginner
class or instructor consent required to join the class.

POTTERY OPEN STUDIO
(Ages 18+)
This is an open studio setting for individuals with previous pottery experience.
Instructor consent to join the class is required. Students will have an opportunity
to work independently on the wheel and hand-building to create their own unique
pieces. Class includes all supplies, clay, tools, glaze and electric kiln finishing.
Looking for extra studio time? Sign up for the extended hour of class. Participants
must be enrolled in the two-hour class in order to register for the extra hour. Space
is limited so sign up early.
