27 LOMBARDPARKS.COM | 630.620.7322 BASKETBALL SUMMER YOUTH BASKETBALL (Grades 1-8) Join a park district cooperative basketball league between Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, Itasca, Medinah, Glendale Heights, Bensenville, and Roselle. Home games will be played in Lombard, but road games will be played in other towns previously listed. This is still a recreational league focusing on player development and has rules such as all players must play 50% of the game. Games will be played on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays and begin 06/06. Practices will be held during the week similar to the winter basketball league. Jerseys for this league will be the Lombard Park District red and black reversible. Registration will be determined by the grade the child was in for 2024-2025 school year. Please note: registration received after April 21 may result in your child not being placed with a classmate or friend. Participants will take part in physical fitness, fine motor skills, teamwork, and fun games. Children will build their physical skills as well as confidence in themselves. This program is specially designed to offer kids their first taste of the game, emphasizing enjoyment and foundational skill development. The clinic provides a welcoming environment where young players can learn the basics of basketball, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and the fundamental rules of the game. Through engaging drills and interactive activities, participants will build confidence and develop a love for basketball that will inspire them to keep playing and improving. Biddy Basketball was co-developed by Glenbard West, Head Coach, Jason Opoka and former York Head Coach, Vince Doran, two seasoned professionals with a passion for nurturing young talent. Their combined expertise ensures that each session is not only educational, but also filled with positive reinforcement and enthusiasm. The goal of this clinic is to make the experience as enjoyable as possible, helping young players create lasting memories while setting the foundation for future basketball success. Their commitment to hand-eye coordination, agility, technique, and detail sets them apart. Children will build confidence through instruction while promoting life-long lessons.
