SUCCULENT GARDEN WORKSHOP (Ages 18+) Create a stunning living piece of art with succulents. Join the horticulturalist as she conducts this workshop for you to create a living wreath or terrarium. Everything needed for the class will be provided. Upon registering, participants will be asked if they want to create a wreath or terrarium. Instructor: Jane Burke Location: Lombard Lagoon Code Day Date Time R/NR Fee 415202-01 Tu 03/17 6:30 - 8:30 pm $45/$55 TERRARIUM WORKSHOP (Ages 18+) A terrarium consists of both sealed and unsealed containers holding soil and plants designed to be housed indoors needing very little maintenance. This class will teach you the basics of how to properly create a successful terrarium. All supplies will be provided for participants, however, if you prefer to use your own, feel free to do so. Learn the basics of this relaxing and exciting hobby as participants are led through Lilacia Park during spring migration. Please bring a pair of binoculars. Participants will receive a species checklist and will learn about both resident and migratory species. Instructor: Robert Perez Location: Lilacia Park Code Day Date Time R/NR Fee 115200-05 Sa 05/02 8:00 - 10:00 am $5/$10 NATURAL HISTORY OF ILLINOIS WORKSHOP (Ages 18+) In this new class, participants will learn about the Natural History of Illinois and how early settlers used native plants for everyday life. The class will begin at the Lombard Community Building, where participants will gain a better understanding of what our region looked like prior to development and how pioneers used native plants in their everyday life. With assistance from the Lombard Historical Society, participants will then be able to take what they have learned in the classroom and see real-world examples with live demonstrations at the Sheldon Peck Homestead's gardens.
