34 AUTUMN 2026 ADULT ATHLETICS PROGRAM MANAGERS ANDREW DERWENT | aderwent@lombardparks.com MARTHA HOUSTON | mhouston@lombardparks.com ROB WILLIAMS | rwilliams@lombardparks.com SOFTBALL ADULT 12" SOFTBALL LEAGUE (Ages 18+) Gather a team of friends, co-workers, or family to join the adult softball leagues for the autumn. League play for the Park District's adult softball leagues begins the third week of August. Teams registering as resident status will need to provide proof of residency (copy of driver's license) for all players. League consists of eight regular season games and playoffs for qualifying teams. Please note: Five or more non-residents constitutes a non-resident team. Games canceled due to unplayable field conditions will be scheduled on Saturdays or alternate days when needed or available. Teams may pay $100 deposit to hold a spot in the league. Deposits are due at the time of registration. If full payment is not received by August 1, the credit card on file will be charged the remaining league fee. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. The league registration is open until August 3 or until filled, whichever comes first. Beginner/Intermediate lessons will cater to beginning players who have never played before or intermediate players who have limited experience and formal instruction. Players will brush up on basics with a focus on strokes, overhead serve, and progressing to rally placement and consistency. Will include both individual and group instruction. Adult Drills caters to individuals who know the basics of tennis, and any player who wants to improve. This class will feature less step-by-step instruction and more match play and volleying. Players must supply own rackets. Instructors may recommend switching class levels based on skill level. Open to all skill levels, participants will enjoy a combination of exercise and recreational play. Each class includes a 10-minute warm-up followed by pickup-style games. Participants should bring both a light-colored and dark-colored shirt each week.
