Well, Little Kickers will allow them to experience the thrill of soccer! This class will focus primarily on age-appropriate games to help acclimate your young one to soccer and teach them the basics. Many of the activities will involve both the child and parent. All participants will receive a T-shirt. Class will be taught by experienced instructors. A parent must be present for this activity. Required items: Comfortable clothes; water bottle; parent; soccer ball (optional). Instructor: Staff Location: Lombard Common (Near corner of St. Charles Rd. & Edgewood) SPRING SOCCER LEAGUE (Ages 4 - Grade 9) Give your child the opportunity to experience the world's most popular sport! Participants will learn and improve their soccer skills and share in the fun and camaraderie at the heart of youth sports in this program. Teams practice once per week (weather permitting) on a day, time, and location determined by your coach. Teams will hold at least one practice before their first game of the season. Games are approximately one hour on Saturdays. If rainouts occur, games will be rescheduled for an additional Saturday at the end of the season or on weekday evenings. Lombard Park District staff selects the teams and coaches using the Team Formation Guidelines (available at www.lombardparks.com). For more information, please consult the Parents Manual available online. Volunteer coaches are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to secure a team for the season. Required items: LPD Jersey/shirt (games only); shin guards, water bottle. Season may be extended 1-2 weeks based on rainouts and number of teams. Purchase a game jersey for $18 at SKRC. Please note: Pre-K league participants do NOT need to purchase a jersey. League Shirts will be provided prior to the first game for the Pre-K league. Please consult the Team Formation Guidelines. Requests for teams, players, or coaches will not be guaranteed. Important dates to remember: 12/1 - 02/15: Early Bird Registration period 03/01: Final registration deadline. All registrants after this date are waitlisted and not guaranteed a spot in the program. 03/31: Coaches will contact players by this date.
