(Ages 12 and up)
This phase will initially focus on establishing joint flexibility
and core stability. It will then stress proper running technique,
progressing from straight ahead to backward, then laterally - both shuffling
and crossover - and finally how to efficiently change direction. An assortment
of drills will be utilized using ladders, cones, etc. to elicit "quick feet". This
course will serve as a prelude to Part II ("raw speed" emphasis) which will meet
outdoors at a local track and field later in the spring. Highly recommended for
junior high through college-aged athletes of all sports.
