Get ready for a lively tennis workout! Players must supply their own racquets. Instructors may recommend switching class levels based on their assessment of your skill level. Classes may be combined based on enrollment. Up to 3 classes will be made up on Mondays or Fridays if any of the regularly scheduled classes are cancelled due to weather. BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE LESSONS: will cater to beginning players who have never played before or intermediate players who have limited experience and limited formal instruction. Players will brush up on basics with a focus on strokes, overhead serve, and progressing to volley placement and consistency. ADVANCED LESSONS: will cater to players who have received some formal instruction and have solid tennis fundamentals. Instruction will still be the primary aspect of this class, and basics will be reviewed, but instruction will be more nuanced and will include more challenging shots, as well as working on consistency, footwork, and strategies for match play. DRILLS: cater to individuals who know the basics of tennis, and intermediate to advanced players who want to improve. This program is more rigorous than the Advanced Lessons, and will feature less formal step-by-step instruction and more match-play and volleying, where instructors will pinpoint specific areas for improvement for the individual player while they volley and play matches. This event is designed for tennis enthusiasts to meet others who love tennis, play some sets and have fun. Players will play short singles matches in a round-robin format, followed by a final one-set match against an opponent determined by round-robin result. End time will depend on number of participants. Prizes will be awarded. Must register by June 26th at noon.
