29 activity guide spring 2015 MARTIAL ARTS SULLIVAN'S SCHOOL OF KARATE (Ages 4-Adult) Karate is an art that stresses defense rather than offense. Sensei Matt is a 3rd degree black belt who teaches the traditional style of Okinawan karate, and is designed for youths, teens and adults. Uniforms can be purchased through the instructor, $30 for youth and $35 for adult. Parents can participate with their enrolled children for no additional charge. Students will learn different moves and combinations that will help them develop their skill. Fencing is great exercise for all ages. Please wear comfortable clothes (no shorts) and athletic shoes. The instructor is a Russian- trained professional fencer. All equipment is provided. Classes are taught by Illinois Shotokan Karate Club's expert instructors under the direction of John DiPasquale, four-time National Champion, U.S. Karate National Coach and President of the National Karate Federation of the U.S. Beginner students will not be permitted to register into the current session after the second class. Registration for continuers through advanced students will be accepted after the start date, but the full class fee is required. Uniforms and belt- testing options are available through the ISKC instructor. Please note that the youth, parent/child and adult classes may train together. Fee is per student.
