45 activity guide spring 2015 TEEN DANCE NIGHTS (Ages 11-14) Bring your friends and check out our teen dance! If you liked coming to our Teen Nights at Paradise Bay then you will enjoy our teen dances! The DJ will play all those popular songs and will also take requests. Raffle prizes and give- a-ways will be available. All area youth are invited. Bring a student ID. Cash Only. Parent/Guardian signature is required for admission to Teen Dances. Instructor: Staff Location: Lombard Community Building Code Day Date Time Dance Fee Drop-in F 4/24 7:00 - 9:00 pm Spring Fling $5 OPEN GYM (Grades 6-8) Come on out to Pleasant Lane School for basketball and other gym activities! It's a safe place to hang out with your friends and participate in a variety of organized athletics! Staff is available to organize, facilitate, and participate in the activities. All participants must stay until Open Gym is over unless previously arranged with parent and staff. No one will be released early unless a parent/guardian enters the building. (Ages 7-12) These classes are sure to enhance manner skills while offering lifetime benefits. Designed to be fun and interactive, the first week focuses on powerful first impressions and proper introductions. There's a segment on thank-you note guidelines, too. The next class is all about getting rid of bad behaviors during mealtime, along with setting a table and practicing with actual food, utensils, and linens. Share food allergies at time of registration. Do all airplanes have wings? In this class we will make a looping plane, a plane without wings, learn how these planes fly, and eventually redesign them. We will see how flight design is related to fashion design by using paper models and actual materials to dress your model airplane. At the end of class we will have a fashion show! We will analyze a painting to determine if it is a forgery or a real painting. We will use visual inspection and chemical analysis to find out the truth, then we will paint a copy of the famous painting! Our staff will make each girl a funky diva with cool hair, make-up, and neon nails. Each participant will decorate a cool accessory bag and design a funky peach bracelet. Our class turns on the disco lights for a retro dance party with Limbo and Freeze Dance. Each girl takes home a "peace" offering! In this charming jewelry class you will make beautiful treasures with assorted glass beads and charms. Each couple makes an ensemble of a necklace and bracelet. Bring your creativity together and decorate a wooden jewelry chest and personalize it! A treat together ends this great class! Fee is per couple.
