www.lombardparks.com | 630.620.7322 20 GYMNASTICS LOMBARD LEAPERS GYMNASTICS (Ages 6-14) The Lombard Leapers Gymnastics program will focus on the four events of gymnastics: beam, bars, floor, and vault. Our instructors from locally-owned Tumbling Times Inc. are passionate about providing a positive and productive experience for your child. Participants in the program will have the option of competing in meets against gymnasts from other park districts from December-May (for an additional fee). Saturdays will be made available for make-up dates for days class cannot meet. Practices and class times are subject to occasional change or cancellation due to GEHS events. Participants will be notified of any changes in advance. For specific questions about the program, please contact Jody Honig at tumblingtimes@hotmail.com. Beginner Class: for gymnasts with limited or no experience or who are not ready to compete on the team Advanced Beginner Class: for gymnasts who have received some instruction, but do not wish to participate competitively Gymnastics Team: for participants who have demonstrated the necessary skills to perform basic routines and compete against other local park districts. Those who wish to compete on the Gymnastics Team must complete at least one session of Gymnastics Team prior to December and receive instructor approval. You must be registered for the Monday/Wednesday class to sign up for Saturdays. Instructors will assess gymnasts at the first class and will place them accordingly. Instructor: Tumbling Times Inc. Participants will learn movement skills related to jumping, skipping, rolling, crawling, climbing, and balancing. Class will be conducted in a stimulating and safe environment while exploring the use of four areas in gymnastics: balance beam, tumbling, uneven bars, and vaulting. Active wear is recommended. Participants will learn basic movement skills such as jumping, skipping, hopping, crawling, climbing, rolling, and balancing. Class will use the four basic apparatuses used for female gymnastics programs: balance beam, tumbling, uneven bars, and vaulting. For safety reasons, all participants in this program must be potty trained and have the ability to follow directions without the help of their parent. To help keep participants fully engaged with the instructors, parents are not allowed inside the gymnasium during class, but can watch from outside the classroom. Active wear is recommended. Our instructors from locally-owned Tumbling Times Inc. are passionate about providing a positive and productive tumbling experience for your child. The program is equipped to accommodate a wide range of skills and age levels, and instructors are dedicated to helping your child learn and progress. From October through February, participants in the program have the option of competing in meets against tumblers from other park districts (for an additional fee).
