25 activity guide spring 2015 YOUTH ATHLETICS FLAG FOOTBALL (Ages 6-9) This co-recreational program gives your child an excellent opportunity to learn the basic skills of football including throwing, catching and blocking in a safe environment. Participants will learn the basics and play scrimmage games on Saturday afternoons. Each participant will be given a team t-shirt. Ages will be combined if minimums are not met. Volunteer coaches are encouraged to apply ASAP to assist staff. This class will help your child learn the game of hockey before the skates go on. Participants will learn the parts of an arrow and recurve bow, the basics of using a recurve bow, and fundamental shooting skills. They also will learn an excellent, nationally recognized beginner's 9-step to the ten ring progression which was created by the Coaches Development Committee of the National Archery Association. Blunt tipped arrows, bows, and targets are provided. A mix of technique and games will be a part of this class. Registration fee includes both the parent and the child. The parent's primary role is to help their child learn, while also getting to participate in the activity. Additional siblings participating with the same parent may register for $65R/$75NR.
