POMS SQUAD COMPETITIVE 2015-2016
(Ages 5-17)
Calling all dancers! The Lombard Poms Team is looking for energetic &
talented kids who would love to dance, learn, and perform as a team while
making new friends. The Poms program consists of three competitive pom
levels: ages 5-8, ages 9-11, and ages 12-17. Depending on enrollment, there
may be more than one team formed at some of the age levels. The team will
learn skills such as kicks, turns, and jumps, and then use what they learned to
develop a routine. From February-April 2016, the team will compete against
other park districts in three to four meets, which are held on weekends.
The season ends with a final performance at Kids Day in Lilacia Park and
participation in the Lilac Day Parade in May 2016. Commitment to the squad
includes the purchase of team uniforms and poms, and weekly attendance at
practices on Monday nights. The first session is a 4-week session, designed to
give your child a sneak peak at the Poms Team before committing to the full
season that runs through May. Must be listed age as of 08/31/2015.
Information Session: 08/31/2015, 6:00-7:00 pm, at Sunset Knoll Recreation
Center. Parents and participants who are interested in finding out more about
the program and meeting Head Coach Lauren are strongly encouraged to
attend the Information Session.

LOMBARD POM CAMP
(Ages 6-13)
Are you a member of the Lombard Pom Competition Team? Do you want to
be a part of the award winning team for the upcoming season? Then this camp
is for you! Girls will learn and perfect the basics of kicks and kick lines. We will
focus on stretching to increase leg flexibility and strength, and timing to keep
up in a kick line. Girls will learn how to put together a kick line within a routine
and complex movements with basic kicks.

JAZZ FUNK

A little bit of jazz, a little bit of hip hop; your child will learn or review proper
jazz technique and across the floor movements and combinations while
mixing in hip hop/street style to make it funky!

FAIRY PRINCESS DANCE
(Ages 4-6)
Learn to dance like a fairy princess! We will incorporate pre-ballet and creative
movement techniques as we dance to our favorite princess music. In no time
we will transform into one of our favorite princesses! Children must be toilet
independent. Ballet shoes required.
