2 | www.lombardparks.com | (630) 620-7322 DEAR RESIDENTS, As I write this letter, there is quite the chill in the air and most of the leaves have fallen off the trees. The leaves crunch under our footsteps and pumpkin is currently the go to, but holiday lights, frost and gingerbread are not too far away. The District is preparing for the upcoming year by completing the Comprehensive Annual Operating Budget and working on recreation programming for 2016. The District has proposed to maintain and operate a $9.1 million dollar budget with approximately $1 million for capital projects. For a list of projects in the works, visit www.lombardparks.com and click on current projects. Staff has been preparing for JingleBell Jubilee and Holiday Lights in Lilacia Park. JingleBell Jubilee kicks off the holiday season in Lombard with the tree lighting and Santa's arrival at 5:30 pm on December 5 in Lilacia Park. A photographer will be taking photos for you to download as your family visits with Santa. The holiday lights and music will be turned on from 4:30 pm–9:00 pm from December 6, 2015–January 2, 2016. The District will be hosting the holiday lights and extension cord recycling drive in the Coach House lower level and Sunset Knoll Recreation Center. Visit page 8 for a full schedule of events. The new year is always a great opportunity for resolutions and to kick start the health and fitness program you may have been putting on the backburner from the holiday season. The Lombard Park District has teamed up with a variety of wellness businesses to offer the Health Fair and Fitness Expo, which will be held at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center on January 10 from 11:00 am–1:00 pm. A variety of group fitness classes are a great way to get in shape, keep your fitness level, or try something new. New classes include Prenatal Yoga, Postnatal Workout, Power Yoga, Core & More, and Interval Express. Visit pages 50–56 for more information. The Board of Park Commissioners thanks you for your continued support and encourages your input and participation by attending the regular board meetings, which are held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center.
