SOLAR SYSTEM AND BEYOND
(Ages 8-12)
Look up at the sky at night and what do you see? If it is the right season and time,
you might see Venus or Mars! In this class we will make a 3 dimensional puzzle
of our solar system, complete a planet scavenger hunt, and make a model of
our universe.

WATER SHOW
(Ages 8-12)
Join this class to see an amazing water show! Participants will make a working
submarine, learn how to submerge your submarine and then refloat it, learn
what buoyancy is, and learn how submarines work. We will decode messages
using Navy code and each participant will have a flag parade and send messages
using signal flags. Participants will then be able to take their submarine and
signal flag home!

FIREFLIES, SEA MONSTERS, & GLOWSTICKS
(Ages 8-12)
Communicate as fireflies do, learn how organisms of the ocean depth use light
to survive and how we communicate using fiber optics. Students will learn about
recent research to make things invisible just like Harry Potter's cloak, how light is
important and learn what light is and how it is different than other things around
us. Students will find answers to these questions and they will be able to explain
how things disappear in the "little magic box."

OPEN GYM
(Grades 6-8)
Come on out to Pleasant Lane School for basketball and other gym activities!
It's a safe place to hang out with your friends and participate in a variety of
organized athletics! Staff is available to organize, facilitate and participate in the
activities. All participants must stay until Open Gym is over unless previously
arranged with parent and staff. No one will be released early unless a parent/
guardian enters the building.

FIRST AID AND CPR CERTIFICATION
(Ages 12 +)
Learn to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing
emergencies, and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns,
scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, head, and cold. On-line
portion of class must be completed before class and is a two year certification.
Course fee includes on-line access to digital version of manual and refresher
course.

CHESS SCHOLARS
(Ages 5-12)
Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice
time. Both new and returning participants will get to the next level under the
guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. No previous knowledge
of chess is necessary; players of all levels are welcome. Children will have an
opportunity to test for a Chess Belt® under a unique Chess Scholars system
patterned after martial arts belts. There will also be a chess competition with
prizes at the end of the session!

CHESS SCHOLARS SPRING BREAK CAMP
(Ages 5-12)
This camp is designed for both beginners and experienced young players. All
participants learn cool new strategies at the appropriate level from a renowned
Chess Scholars coach. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period
and guided practice time. Children will have an opportunity to test for a Chess
Belt® under a unique Chess Scholars system patterned after martial arts belts.
There will also be a chess competition with prizes! Each camper will take home a
chess set and an award. Please bring your own snacks
