Staff was busy all winter preparing equipment and removing 49 ash trees in preparation for the golf season. Tree replacement
will begin later this year and it remains the goal of the District to replace every tree removed with two new trees. Western
Acres Golf Course (WAGC) opened on March 30 and as of September 30 there have been nearly 14,000 rounds, down 3,400
rounds from last season. Staff worked with the Illinois FootGolf Association to bring FootGolf to WAGC. An 18-hole course
has been established and is now available to the community. Nearly 270 people have participated in FootGolf at the course.
Repairs & Improvements have experienced an increase due to repairs to the pump station at the golf course. This has been
submitted to PDRMA for an insurance claim. Finally, a new pump and six new gas carts have been purchased.
