Day Camp provides children with a wide array of activities ranging from indoor/ outdoor games, team sports, crafts, and themed events. Camp is designed to meet the needs and interests of all campers. During each two-week session, campers will experience two field trips via school bus, walking trip, or extra pool day. PARENT MEETING–An informational parent meeting for Day Camp and Teen Camp will be held on Wednesday, May 25 at 6:00 pm at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center. Parents will be able to pick up their campers t-shirt and camp packets with emergency forms that must be filled out and handed in before the camper's first day. For additional information, visit www.lombardparks.com. CAMP OPTIONS Three-Day Option: Campers may attend Day Camp on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (M,W,F) within the same week. Campers will attend the weekly field trip. Campers will receive one t-shirt for the summer. Five-Day Option: Campers may attend Monday through Friday within the same week. Campers will receive one t-shirt for the summer. Ten-Day Option: Campers may attend Monday through Friday within the same two-week session. Campers will receive two t-shirts for the summer. Full Summer Option: Campers may attend all five sessions and every field trip during the summer. Campers will receive two t-shirts for the summer. Pick Your Day Option (PYD): By popular demand, a new Day Camp option has been added to Junior, Senior, and Teen Camps! Days chosen for PYD must be a minimum of three days per week. PYD registration must be completed in person at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center and is not available for online registration. Please note that field trip days increase in price, if chosen. If parent/guardian needs to switch days during the week, the parent/guardian must visit Sunset Knoll Recreation Center to make the change. An email or phone call will not be accepted. It is then required to bring the receipt or proof of the switch to the Camp Director or Supervisor prior to drop off. Prices: R/NR Non Field Trip Day: $32/$40 Field Trip Day: $42/$50 POOL DAYS– Junior Day Camp will be held at Paradise Bay Water Park every Monday and Wednesday during the summer, except for the first Monday of Day Camp (June 6). Additional pool days may be offered during some sessions. Senior Day Camp will be held at the Lombard Community Building (right next to the water park) every day. Senior Day Camp will have the opportunity to visit the Water Park more frequently. If weather is inclement on any pool days, camp will be held at the Lombard Community Building. If your camper has swimming limitations, staff will strongly encourage taking swim lessons, which are offered for campers every Wednesday morning (please see swim lessons for more information). T-shirts should be worn on all field trips and pool days. FIELD TRIPS–Junior Camp, Senior Camp, and Teen Camp have scheduled field trips each week and all campers attending on a field trip day must go on the field trip. Field Trip permission slips will be given at the time of registration with the Parent Manual and must be filled out before the first day of camp. Field trip fees are included in all camp options except PYD. REGISTRATION–Registration is located at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center or on our website for many options. No registration will be taken at Pleasant Lane School or Lombard Community Building. Registration for camp must be completed at least three business days prior to your camper's first day. Online registration is not available for PYD options. Registration must be completed in person at least three business days before for PYD option. SWIM LESSONS–Swim lessons are available for Day Camp or Teen Camp participants only for $4 per lesson or eight lessons for $20. Swim lessons will be held on Wednesdays from 8:30-9:10 am at Paradise Bay Water Park, where Day Camp is scheduled every Wednesday throughout the summer. Once campers are done with swim lessons, counselors will bring them to the camp. SUNRISE AND SUNSET CAMP–Sunrise and Sunset Camp is located at Pleasant Lane Elementary for Junior and Senior Camps on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays. Sunrise and Sunset Camp is located at the Lombard Community Building on Mondays and Wednesdays for both Junior and Senior Camps, except the first day of camp (June 6), will be held at Pleasant Lane. A bus will be transporting Senior Campers to and from camp if attending Sunrise or Sunset Camp. WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP–Campers should bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and a towel to camp every day. Seniors must bring a swimsuit every day and Juniors must bring a swimsuit on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays–if the field trip is at an aquatics facility or beach. Camp t-shirts must be worn for all pool and field trip days. EMERGENCY FORMS–Emergency forms can be found on our website or at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center upon registration.
