/lombardparks Adult & Senior TSUKASA TAIKO (Ages 17 +) Tsukasa Taiko is a community arts program of Asian Improve Arts Midwest whose mission is, through teaching and performing, to preserve, develop, and pass on the traditional concepts of genuine Japanese art as a cultural legacy, to instill appreciation for artistic excellence, and to utilize these concepts in expanding and evolving the taiko (Japanese drum) art form. Join us as a certified deaf education instructor teaches how to communicate with someone who is deaf or hard-of-hearing. The mill operated for over 100 years until 1969. Today, Cedar Creek Settlement occupies the site with over 30 shops including antique stores, gift shops, artists' studios, a forge, and a potter's studio. Join a guide for a short narrated walking tour along streets of Antioch. You will enjoy the many boutiques, gift shops, and eateries. Your guide will explain how the Dickens characters were made and brought to life by local volunteers and how each character exhibit describes life in the Dickens era. In addition, Antioch will feature Kringle's Christmas Village, where dozens of oversized shadowboxes are filled to the brim with quaint holiday scenes. Lunch will be at The Lodge of Antioch, located in the midst of the holiday displays. The holiday magic continues at the Chicago Botanic Gardens Wonderland Express exhibit!
