Participants will learn more about the common causes, symtoms, and surgical and non-surgical treatment options for joint pain. Lunch will be provided along with gift bags and raffle prizes. Using a dip pen and ink, beginning students will explore Medieval alphabets like Uncial and Gothic Blackletter, then progress to the intermediate course with Italic, Roman Capitals, and Modern Brush Lettering. Both courses devote time to design application with small projects like greeting cards, stationery, paper painting, and writing in color. A supply kit may be purchased from the instructor for $15 on the first day of class. Share in the unexpected encounters between these legendary divas and the ordinary women whose lives were changed by their brush with fame. Featuring such favorites as "Come Rain or Come Shine," "Crazy," and "Ain't Nobody's Business If I Do," Bethany Thomas has been on the Chicago scene staring in many musicals and won a Jeff Award for her role in "South Pacific." "Songs for Nobodies" illuminates the power of song to share a story, heal a heartbreak, and inspire a dream. As a bonus, our performance will have a 30 minute Post-Show Discussion! We will enjoy a delicious lunch at L. Woods Tap & Pine Lodge, a Wisconsin supper club inspired restaurant. LINCOLN'S TEA (Ages 55+) Step back into 1848 with period-clothed boat crew and two friendly mules guiding you along the historic Illinois & Michigan Canal for an hour-long ride. After the ride, we will join Mrs. Lincoln for tea. She will regale us with stories of her courtship and marriage to Mr. Lincoln as well as their trip down the I&M Canal. Our tea will include classic scones with jam and Devonshire Cream, savory tea sandwiches, sweets, and a variety of teas. We will have time after lunch for a stop in the Visitor Center that features additional information about the I&M Canal and a gift shop. Enjoy an upscale three-course plated lunch and entertainment while you sit back and relax as Chicago's famous skyline drifts past your window! Entree selection of jumbo forest mushroom ravioli, oven roasted frenched chicken breast with rosemary & thyme, oven baked fresh Atlantic salmon filet, or braised beef short rib will be made on board.
