MOVIN' & SHAKIN' (Ages 3-4) Your preschooler will use imagination in this movement and dance class that also includes plenty of game-playing to keep them interested. Ballet shoes required. Children must be toilet independent. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/28 Instructor: Arianna Robertson FAIRYTALE DANCE (Ages 3-4) This class introduces dance using ballet as a foundation, but also explores sound and movement. We will read a fairytale each week and through creative movement explore the story through dance. Ballet shoes are required. Children must be toilet independent. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/24 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad FAIRY PRINCESS DANCE (Ages 4-6) Learn to dance like a fairy princess! We will incorporate pre-ballet and creative movement techniques as we dance to our favorite princess music. In no time we will transform into one of our favorite princesses! Children must be toilet independent. Ballet shoes required. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/23, 11/28 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad PRE TAP & JAZZ (Ages 4-5) Learn the basics of both tap and jazz in this class designed especially for preschoolers! Tap and jazz shoes required. Children must be toilet independent. Instructor: Arianna Robertson Class Will Not Meet On: 11/26 PRE-BALLET (Ages 4-5) Pre-Ballet I (Age 4-5): Little dancers are introduced to the structure of ballet class, ballet etiquette, basic terminology, feet and arm positions and musicality. These classes will incorporate props and dance games as well as develop each child's creativity and encourage self-expression. Pre-Ballet II (Age 5): This class is for students who have completed Pre-Ballet I, Fairy Princess Dance and for the 5 year old new to ballet. Students will build upon the basic structure of the ballet class, develop spatial awareness, work on posture, coordination, learn the foundation of barre work, continue progress with arms and feet positions as well as incorporate basic ballet technique in the center. Learn new skills and build on across the floor exercises. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/24, 11/28 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad (Tu); Arianna Robertson (Sa) BALLET I & II (Ages 5-13) Ballet I (Ages 5-8): This class will build upon the basic ballet technique learned in pre-ballet and/or Fairy Princess Dance. Emphasis will be placed on musicality, posture, patterns, stage directions, flexibility, terminology and linking steps. Ballet II (Ages 8-13): This expands on Ballet I. Ballet II emphasizes feet, arm and body positions, correct body placement, preparation for turns, barre work, ballet stretching, musicality, memorizing ballet combinations and choreography. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/23, 11/26, 11/28 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad PRE JAZZ (Ages 3-4) This upbeat class introduces dancers to beginning jazz technique while focusing on rhythm, coordination, balance and self-expression. Jazz shoes are required. Children must be toilet independent. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/24 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad JAZZ I & II (Ages 8-13) Children are introduced to jazz dance, one of the coolest and most exciting of dance styles, in this class that features a new routine each session. Jazz shoes and dance apparel are required. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/23 Instructor: Ashley Silha LYRICAL CONTEMPORARY I, II & III (Ages 5-14) This class is a contemporary form of dance that blends ballet, jazz and modern techniques. These classes will include elements such as freedom of expression, interpretation of music, principles of fall and recovery, control, breath and balance. Students will explore self-expression with the use of their own interpretation of music. Lyrical Contemporary I (Ages 5-6): Younger students will work on basic ballet and jazz technique and linking steps together in a final combination at the end of class. Lyrical Contemporary II (Ages 7-9): Students will continue to build on their ballet and jazz technique while being introduced to basic modern technique including floor work. They will also be working on the fundamentals of leaps and turns. Lyrical Contemporary II (Ages 10-14): Students will progress to more advanced ballet, jazz and modern technique as well as focusing on movement and performance quality. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/23 Instructor: Rebecca Robertstad TAP & JAZZ (Ages 6-8) Learn the basics of both tap and jazz in this class designed especially for 6-8 year olds! Tap and jazz shoes required. Class Will Not Meet On: 11/26 Instructor: Arianna Robertson DANCE DRESS CODE Appropriate dance attire is required for all dance classes. No jeans, dresses, sandals or street shoes are allowed. All dancers must wear the following dance shoes to class: black jazz shoes for all hip hop and pom/jazz classes, black tap shoes for all tap classes, and white or pink ballet shoes for all pre-ballet, ballet and lyrical/contemporary classes.
