Lombard Park District 62 Chapter Three Survey Demographics Participants were asked to provide the number of people within each age-range within their household to assist in making sure all age-groups were accounted for in the results. The results indicated a broad range of ages participated, providing further confi dence in the results. The age-range participation are identifi ed in the following chart. Survey Toplines Common threads and repeated elements emerged from the survey and have been noted below without prioritization. Categorized key toplines included the following: • Participation in their programs is high and usage of their facilities is high • Paradise Bay Water Park and the Sunset Knoll Community Center are the most visited facilities. Respondents gave the Water Park high marks for "condition" but much lower marks for the Sunset Knoll Community Center. • There is a fair amount of support for developing a new indoor facility. Spaces people would use the most are a walking and running track, weight room/ cardio area, exercise facility for those 50 and over, lanes for lap swimming and a leisure pool. • 67% of household respondents would be willing to pay some level of increased taxes for the facilities most important to them. The two facilities most important to the most respondents are an indoor recreation center and development of indoor aquatics. • Usage and satisfaction is high for parks and facilities. 88% of respondents use District parks. The national benchmark is 72% and Illinois benchmark is 78%. In regards to satisfaction, 31% ranked Lombard Park District programs as excellent. The national benchmark is 34% and statewide benchmark is 37%. • Participation is high for recreation programs. 40% of respondents participated in recreation programs or used facilities in the last year, while nationally the benchmark is 34% and statewide it is 39%. • Location of facility most important reason to participate in programs or activities. • The Park District is leading community provider. • The Park District brochure is major means for marketing.
