Districtwide Comprehensive Master Plan 63 Needs Assessment Toplines Continued... • Respondents' reasons for not using Lombard Park District facilities or participating in programs more often were that programs were not off ered (26%), time not convenient (23%), or fees are too high (14%). Illinois benchmarks for programs not off ered is 17% and for fees are too high is 18%. • Only 9% of respondents do not use facilities or participate in programs because they do not know what is available. Illinois benchmark for this is 13%. • Unmet needs exist for a number of parks and recreation facilities. • Most important facilities are walking trails and biking trails, nature areas / nature parks, and playgrounds. • Most used recreation programs are adult fi tness and wellness programs, special events, and youth sports programs. • Indoor recreation center and indoor aquatics are facilities respondent households would be most willing to fund. Survey Indications Over 65% of the District is either very satisfi ed (23%) or somewhat satisfi ed (42%) with the overall value of the Lombard Park District and the services and facilities the District provides. The National average for very satisfi ed is 30% and somewhat satisfi ed is 35%. The state average for very satisfi ed is 29% and somewhat satisfi ed is 36%. Madison Meadow ranked as the most used park while Lilacia, Lombard Common, and Sunset Knoll followed. Babcock Grove, Broadview Slough, Edson Park, Eastview Terrace Park, and Crescent Tot Lot are the least used Parks. Babcock Grove, Broadview Slough, and Eastview Terrace Park lack any recreation amenities, while Crescent Tot Lot and Edson Park have little to no parking which may result in a lack of users.
