adult & Senior Applied Theatre for Adults (Ages 18+) Feeling nervous about an upcoming presentation or toast? Wish you felt more confident during that last interview? This class brings the fun into fundamentals of public speaking. Using fun theatre games and improvisational character building as well as vocal and movement techniques, learn to appear poised and confident in front of others and beat stage fright. The online portion of class must be completed before class and serves as a two-year certification. The course fee includes online access to a digital version of the manual and a refresher course. Adjunct professor and music/history buff Gary Wenstup will dive into the history of one of the world's most beloved bands. As a musical entity, The Beatles have not existed for close to 50 years, yet their story, personalities and music continue to influence our culture and expectations of popular music. With the use of audio and visual content, we'll trace the arc of the Beatles career from development in Liverpool, through Beatlemania into their psychedelic phase and conclude with the band's dissolution. Participants will have an appreciation for the Beatles incredible productivity, musical and lyrical maturity and cultural impact. Lunch will be provided.
