SMART START ART (Ages 5-9) Explore your artistic side with Smart Start Art from Afterschool Enrichment Solutions. Discover your creativity and imagination as an artist, developing fine motor skills, style, and vision as we explore different artistic techniques through a variety of inspiring projects. Campers will have the opportunity to learn and work with many different mediums such as watercolors, acrylics, drawing, mixed media, and some arts and craft projects to mix it up a bit. Each day will be something different and new. What better way to spend your break then creating beautiful pieces of artwork. Explore all the basics of visual arts in a fun and confident setting that ensures success for every child. Children will discover basic drawing, portraits, action, and cartooning. Each child will complete several different projects and learn to draw whimsical characters, animals, everyday objects, and action scenes while gaining confidence in their abilities. Design your very own fairy and gnome garden to add to your backyard. We will create fairy furniture, landscapes and homes for all our magical creatures. Students will gain knowledge of the ceramic process while creating 3-4 unique pieces. Creativity is encouraged to personalize each project. Maybe even add a whimsical mustache! Glaze the face in the last class to make it weather proof, then attach it to your tree for everyone in the neighborhood to enjoy. Creativity is encouraged and no experience required. Class Will Not Meet On: 07/04 Instructor: Trish Martin Location: Sunset Knoll Recreation Center Code Day Date Time R/NR Fee 205226-01 Tu 06/20 - 07/11 2:30 - 4:00 pm $45/$55 CERAMIC GARDEN GNOME (Ages 18+) Create a cloaked garden gnome from clay to oversee, protect or hide in an outdoor space. Participants will use a variety of hand building pottery techniques to bring to life a character, whose personality and uniqueness are up to the creator. This two day workshop includes a day to create your sculpture, a day to glaze your sculpture and a future pick-up date.
