42 SPRING 2026 THEATRE CREATE A PLAY (Ages 8-12) Students will have a chance to create a short script and bring their piece to life. Participants will cast, direct, and perform in each others' pieces to create a final performance for families on the last day of class. Roles will be evenly distributed among participants, with a final family performance on the last day of class. Based on Roald Dahl's classic children's book, this show tells the story of Matilda, a bright young girl who loves to read and who faces neglect and cruelty from the adult figures in her life. A witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination. Matilda's bravery inspires her classmates (and the audience) to be "revolting children" who stand up for themselves and each other.
