60 SUMMER 2026 THEATRE THEATRE CAMP - CREATE A PLAY (Ages 7-13) Enjoy this one-week drama camp that will expose participants to a variety of performing arts! Learn about writing, acting, improvisation, scenery, props, costumes, and technical theatre. Campers will put together their own unique show for the last day of camp based on a story they choose as a group. Participants will collaborate to create a theme, choose music, connecting narration, and all other aspects that go into a successful cabaret style show! This is a great opportunity for younger theatre fans to get some time in the spotlight and find their strengths. Auditions are required in order to be a part of the cast. This will allow us to assess the comfort level of children as performers, evaluate their skills and find the role that will best suit their personality and talent. There is no cost to audition. Children will be seen in small groups during their audition time slot. They will be asked to read short scenes from the script (called sides). They will fill out a short audition form listing their possible conflicts and any previous experience. Casting will be based on availability, ability, and attitude. Cast members will be enrolled in the program as a class and must pay a participation fee. This fee covers professional instruction throughout the process, a copy of the script which performers may keep a cast t-shirt and all production costs.
