YOUTH CABARET PERFORMANCES
(Ages 7-11)
Building on the exciting cabaret that Upstart Theatre put together last year,
participants will build their own cabaret show from the ground up, and perform on
our main stage July 17 and 18. Participants will collaborate to create a theme, choose
music, connecting narration, and all other aspects that go into a successful cabaret
style show! This is a great opportunity for younger theatre fans to get some time in
the spotlight and find their strengths.

SUMMER THEATRE PRODUCTION
(Ages 9-16)
Actors will work together to create quality, age appropriate productions suitable
for family viewing. Auditions are required in order to be a part of the cast. This will
allow us to assess the comfort level of children as performers, evaluate their skills
and find the role that will best suit their personality and talent. There is no cost to
audition. Children will be seen in small groups during their audition time slot. They
will be asked to read short scenes from the script (called sides). They will fill out
a short audition form listing their possible conflicts and any previous experience.
Casting will be based on availability, ability, and attitude. Cast members will be
enrolled in the program as a class and must pay a participation fee. This fee
covers professional instruction throughout the process, a copy of the script which
performers may keep a cast t-shirt and all production costs.
