21 activity guide autumn 2015 PRIVATE TENNIS LESSONS (Ages 5+) Set up one-on-one or two-on-one tennis lessons with one of our tennis instructors to you improve your game faster with more individualized attention. Upon registering (minimum of 3 one-hour sessions), you will be contacted by an instructor to set up your lesson times. Please ask for a Private Lesson Request Form at SKRC to help expedite the process. Private Lessons must be pre-paid at least 5 days prior to scheduling a lesson. Instructor must be notified of any cancellations 24 hours in advance for a make-up session. Private Lessons (One-on-One): $30 per hour Pair Lessons (Two-on-One): $40 per hour Instructor: Tennis Staff Location: Lombard Commons Tennis Courts VOLLEYBALL SKILLS & DRILLS (Ages 8-14) Improve your volleyball skills in setting, passing, overhand serving and spiking. The program includes an evaluation of each student, as well as a youth volleyball rating. Organized games will be held at the end of each class. Grade levels may be combined based on enrollment numbers. The program teaches the rules of lacrosse, active teamwork, sportsmanship, and foster personal development in a respectful environment. Register through LPD, and then visit www.iglax. org and click the registration tab to complete Steps 2 & 3 of the process. Participants must bring paid receipt to first practice in order to participate. Required items: Goggles, stick, mouth guard. Practices take place on Tuesdays and Sundays (*Sundays at 1:00 - 2:30 pm). Games take place on Sundays at various parks starting 9/14. Our knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructors will teach your child tennis basics, and help the more experienced player further their tennis skills. Players must supply their own rackets. Tennis balls are supplied. Classes may be adjusted, cancelled, or combined. Instructors may move participants to a different level if necessary. In case of inclement weather, please call the Sports Hotline (630) 415-3479 after 4:00pm. LEVELS Pee-Wee (4-5) - Children will be introduced to tennis with equipment suitable to their size. Advanced Pee Wee - A more advanced class for children who have already completed the Pee Wee level. Beginner (6-8) - Class emphasizes ball control and basic strokes, regardless of previous experience. Beginner Tennis & Games (6-8) - Class emphasizes gameplay and mini- games more than basic instruction Advanced Beginner (9-12) - Children review basic skills and focus on footwork and the overhead serve.
