Illinois has the 28th highest adult obesity rate in the nation, according toThe
State of Obesity: Better Policies for a Healthier America. In 2014, it was reported
that in Illinois 29.3% of adults are obese and 15.1% of children (stateofobesi-
ty.org). The Lombard Park District continues to oƒer programming in health and
wellness such as group fitness, nutrition, athletics, and a variety of healthy and
wellness focused programs for children and adults. The District also promotes
fitness by maintaining walking paths throughout our parks system.

The Lombard Park District wants you to join us in making a
dierence in people's lives this fall! Our Trick-or-Treat Food Drive
is open for participation by local groups, organizations, and
families. Each team will be assigned an area in Lombard to collect
canned and boxed food to be donated to a local food pantry. This
event will take place on Saturday, October 15 from 9:00 am -
12:00 pm. Bags for food collection will be provided by the Park
