20 /lombardparks Summer Camp WELCOME TO DAY CAMP! Are you looking for some new things for your child to do this summer? Why not make your child's summer a fun, safe, and memorable one by filling it with field trips, swimming, games, sports, art projects, and new friendships? Sign-up for one of the summer day camps with the Lombard Park District. From ages 3 - 15, there is a camp for every child! Sign up for a few days, a week or the whole summer! Call (630) 620-7322 to find out more! PARENT MEETING: An informational parent meeting for Day Camp and Teen Camp will be held on Wednesday, May 24 at 6:00 pm at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center. Parents will be able to pick up their campers t-shirt and Camp Packets with emergency forms that must be filled out and handed in before the camper's first day. For additional information, check out our website: www.lombardparks.com. CAMP OPTIONS Three-Day Option: Campers may attend Day Camp on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (M,W,F) within the same week. Campers will attend the weekly field trip. Campers will receive one t-shirt for the summer. Five-Day Option: Campers may attend Monday through Friday within the same week. Campers will receive one t-shirt for the summer. Ten-Day Option: Campers may attend Monday through Friday within the same two-week session. Campers will receive two t-shirts for the summer. Full Summer Option: Campers may attend all five sessions and every field trip during the summer. Campers will receive two t-shirts for the summer. Pick Your Day Option (PYD): Days chosen for PYD may be a minimum of one day per week. PYD registration is available for online registration but must be completed three business days before the registered date. Please note that field trip days increase in price, if chosen. If parent/guardian needs to switch days during the week, a parent/guardian must visit Sunset Knoll Recreation Center to make the change. An email or phone call will not be accepted. It is then required to bring the receipt or proof of the switch to the Camp Director or Supervisor prior to drop off. Campers will receive one t-shirt for the entire summer. No registrations will be taken at Pleasant Lane School or Lombard Community Building. Online registration is available for all options but must be done THREE BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE CAMP. Registration will close three business days before camp. If registration is closed, registration must be done in person at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center. CAMPER PHOTO: Please submit a photo of your camper(s) when submitting emergency forms. POOL DAYS– Junior Day Camp will be held at Paradise Bay Water Park every Monday and Wednesday during the summer, except for the first Monday of Day Camp (06/05). Additional pool days may be offered during some sessions. Senior Day Camp will be held at the Lombard Community Building (right next to the water park) every day. Senior Day Camp will have the opportunity to visit the Water Park more frequently. If weather is inclement on any pool days, camp will be held at the Lombard Community Building. If your camper has swimming limitations, staff will strongly encourage to take swim lessons which are offered for campers only, every Wednesday morning. T-shirts should be worn on all field trips and pool days. FIELD TRIPS: Junior Camp and Senior Camp have scheduled field trips every Friday and all campers attending on a Friday must go on the field trip. CAMPERS MUST BE AT CAMP BY 9:00 AM ON FIELD TRIP DAYS. Field Trip permission slips will be given at the time of registration with the Parent Manual and must be filled out before the first day of camp. Teen Camp has scheduled field trips every Wednesday and campers attending on a Wednesday must go on the field trip. SWIM LESSONS: Swim lessons are now available ONLY TO DAY CAMP OR TEEN CAMP for only $4 per lesson or you can get eight sessions for $20! Swim lessons will be held on Wednesdays from 8:30 - 9:10 am at Paradise Bay Water Park where Day Camp is scheduled every Wednesday during the summer. Once campers are done with swim lessons, counselors will pick them up from inside the water park and bring them to the camp. SUNRISE AND SUNSET CAMP: Sunrise and Sunset Camp is located at Pleasant Lane Elementary for Junior and Senior Camps on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays. Sunrise and Sunset Camp is located at the Lombard Community Building on Mondays and Wednesdays for both Junior and Senior Camp. A bus will be transporting Senior Campers to and from camp if attending Sunrise or Sunset Camp. WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP: Participants should bring a sack lunch, water bottle and a towel every day to camp. Seniors must bring a swimming suit to camp every day, and Juniors must bring a swim suit on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays if the field trip is at an aquatics facility or beach. EMERGENCY FORMS: Emergency forms can be found online or at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center when registering. Emergency forms must be filled out before campers are dropped off their first day.
