SPRING BREAK CHESS SCHOLARS CAMP
(Ages 5-12)
This camp is designed for both beginners and experienced young players. All
participants learn cool new strategies at the appropriate level from a renowned
Chess Scholars coach. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period
and guided practice time. Children will have an opportunity to test for a Chess
Belt® under a unique Chess Scholars system patterned after martial arts belts.
There will also be a chess competition with prizes! Each camper will take home a
chess set and an award. Please bring your own snacks.

LET 'S BUILD IT - CHAIN REACTION IN
ACTION
(Ages 6-11)
This class takes a hands-on approach to engineering, allowing students to
directly engage with basic engineering concepts through a variety of fun and
educational activities. Students will improve their problem solving, math, and
physics skills-all while engaging in exciting building projects. Each trimester-long
unit will focus on a specific area of engineering, like flight, bridge building, and
transportation. The unit will culminate in a testing of students' final projects and
each student will receive an award for their progress during the unit.

BABYSITTING TRAINING
(Ages 11 +)
Learn about all the responsibilities of being a good babysitter and what to expect
from the person who hires you. Training will be provided in safety, safe play,
basic care, first aid, leadership, and professionalism. A safety and first aid kit is
available from the instructor for $14.

FIRST AID, CPR, &
AED CERTIFICATION
(Ages 12 +)
Learn to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing
emergencies, and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns,
scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, head, and cold. On-line
portion of class must be completed before class and is a two year certification.
Course fee includes on-line access to digital version of manual and refresher
course.

TEEN DANCE NIGHTS
(Ages 11-14)
Bring your friends and check out our teen dance! The DJ will play all those
popular songs and will also take requests. Raffle prizes and give-a-ways will be
available. All area youth are invited. Cash only and bring a student ID. Dances
are subject to cancellation or early closing depending on attendance at the start
of the event. Parent/guardian signature is required for admission to dances.

OPEN GYM
(Grades 6-8)
Come on out to Pleasant Lane School for basketball and other gym activities!
It's a safe place to hang out with your friends and participate in a variety of
organized athletics! Staff is available to organize, facilitate and participate in the
activities. All participants must stay until Open Gym is over unless previously
arranged with parent and staff. No one will be released early unless a parent/
guardian enters the building.

SNOWY DAYS OFF
(Grades K-6)
No school? No worries! The Lombard Park District is open for a day filled with winter fun. Bring your kindergartener through sixth grader
to Sunset Knoll Recreation Center where they can participate in crafts, games, group activities and more. No pre-registration is required
and lunch will be provided. Check www.lombardparks.com on a school snow day to make sure we're open!
